NFL rules also will now echo those in college when a player running with the ball loses his helmet. The whistle will blow immediately and the ball will be placed at the ?progress spot? where the helmet came off.

There's nothing wrong at all with this rule, but hell some would think banning the guns in the locker rooms was only for pansies
I think its a great rule, and should have been implemented years ago.
Playing without a helmet is a HUGE HUGE risk, and death is a likely scenario if a player got stepped on or smashed without a helmet.

at the gc south game a south line backer lost his helment in pursuit got back up and ran 15 yards down feild to tackle the ball carrier with out his helment, it was a true testement of heart but i still see why it has to be done.
